Numerous observations and After Action Reviews compiled from Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom indicate that the current first aid kit on vehicles used for tactical operations should be replaced with a capability targeted at decreasing preventable combat death. With a streamlined pocket system built around the capacity to carry the quad-fold 90C Talon® litter, the WALK™ kit gives true definition to the term “aid and litter.” This new capability increases warfighter survivability at the point of wounding by providing basic self- and buddy-aid level medical equipment coupled with a rigid evacuation platform that interfaces with any standard or non-standard casualty evacuation asset. Designed using input from both soldiers and Tactical Health Care Professionals.
