Two locks are required to secure the rack. Before the M240 rack became available, it was authorized to secure the M240 machine gun in the M13 rack if specific instructions were followed to alter the rack. The alteration instructions were developed and obtained from TACOM-RI, but this alteration is not authorized to store the M240 with the hydraulic buffer attached.
