This message board is here so you can view the latest additions to our NSN library. In addition, you can request new NSN's that you don't currently see listed. To do this, click on the "New Topic" button and make your request. So if you're looking for the NSN for a certain model of 5-ton truck, or a certain kind of power supply, or antenna kit, etc, just put as much information as you know: LIN, Nomenclature, or anything else that would be helpful. If desired, add an email / AKO address if you want a direct reply (this is not required). Then we'll do some looking on our end and see what we can find out. But...... we can't guarantee that we'l be able to find every NSN that people request, because of the difficulty in conducting detailed research on each one. (Assistance from the community would be highly appreciated, in cases where we're stumped!)

Topic review - MultiCam Combat Lifesaver (CLS) Bag NSN

Incidentally, the Marine Corps has two versions of the empty CLS Bag, which they call the CTB (Combat Trauma Bag). They're a similar design to the Army version, and can be loaded with a similar component set. They come in Coyote Brown, naturally. Here they are.

CTB-V2 (carrying bag only): www.armyproperty.com/nsn/6545-01-537-2342
CTB-V3 (carrying bag only): www.armyproperty.com/nsn/8465-01-571-5231

And here's the "Fully Loaded" USMC CLS Kit: www.armyproperty.com/nsn/6545-01-571-4470

Hey all,

There have been some questions about the CLS bag (aka MES CLS 2005 & 2009) and whether it's available in MultiCam / OCP. The bottom line is that it's complicated.

To review, there are two "new" CLS bags that have been introduced in the last decade or so. The first is the MES CLS 2005, and the second is the MES CLS 2009. The "MES" stands for "Medical Equipment Set."
You can probably guess when they were rolled out. The 2005 was the first major redesign in many years (actually decades), and the 2009 was a slight improvement on it. Here are the NSN's for the complete kits. These NSN's were issued in the ACU/UCP pattern, aka the universally-despised "Universal Camo."

MES CLS 2005: http://www.armyproperty.com/nsn/6545-01-532-3674
MES CLS 2009: http://www.armyproperty.com/nsn/6545-01-572-9963

The (empty) carrying bags that go to the 2005 and 2009 CLS bags are as follows. They come in ACU/UCP pattern:

TC3-V1 (carrying bag for MES CLS 2005): http://www.armyproperty.com/nsn/6545-01-537-0686
TC3-V2 (carrying bag for MES CLS 2009): http://www.armyproperty.com/nsn/6545-01-574-8111

That's OK as far as it goes. However, with the adoption of MultiCam by OEF units in the 2010/2011 timeframe, a MultiCam version of the TC3-V2 carrying bag was introduced as a replacement for the ACU-pattern carrying bag. The tricky thing is that the full-up (loaded) CLS Bag/Kit did not get a new NSN to reflect the color of the new carrying bag. So you still order the MES CLS 2009 (NSN ending in 9963), and there's no way to be sure which color of a bag it's going to come in.

Here's the NSN for the MultiCam version of the TC3-V2 (empty carrying bag): http://www.armyproperty.com/nsn/6545-01-585-5777

Maybe someday there will be a new NSN for the complete kit in MultiCam/OCP, but for now you'll have to check when you order your MES CLS 2009 and ensure you know which bag it's going to be built with.
