This message board is here so you can request new BII and COEI listings (or Component Hand Receipts) to be added to the ArmyProperty library. To do this, click on the "New Topic" button and make your request. So if you're looking for the BII for a certain model of 5-ton truck, or a certain kind of power supply, or antenna kit, etc, just put as much information as you know: LIN, NSN, Nomenclature, or anything else you already know. If desired, add an email / AKO address if you want a direct reply (this is not required). Then we'll do some looking on our end and see what we can find out. But...... we can't guarantee that we'l be able to find every list that people request, because of the difficulty in locating certain TM's or other publications. (Assistance from the community would be highly appreciated, in cases where we're stumped!)

 Post subject: MK93 MOD 2 vs MK64 MOD1
PostPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 9:24 am
What is the difference between a Mount MK93 MOD 2 and an MK64 MOD1. They both have the same NSN. On my property book, it list the LIN as the MK93 MOD2. The SUBLIN as the MK64 MOD1. The TM list it as the 93 also. Is their documentation that says the MK64 MOD 1 is now the MK93 MOD 2? I want to make sure I'm signing for everything I'm supposed to have.

I am running into the same issue, when I became the Supply NCO in 2008 the MK64 MOD 1 was on our books and now has been replaced by the MK93 MOD 9. Same LIN and NSN. TM 9-1005-245-13&P has the MK93 MOD 9 and I am positive that I have never had that mount in my supply room. There is no way the MK64 MOD 1 and the MK93 MOD 2 are the same piece of equipment. I have looked in PS magazine also for a clue as to when or why the NSN changed over and so far no luck. If anyone out there has an idea what happened or even where to find the components of a MK64 MOD 1 it would really help me (us) out.

If your MK 64 changed to a MK 93 you need to get with your PBO to find out why because they are two different types of mounts.

The MK93 is designed for both the heavy barrel .50cal M2 Machine Gun, and the MK19 to fit on the M3 tripod and various vehicle ring mounts, and pedestal mounts.

The Mk 64 is an older style mount that is designed for the M2, M69 and Mk19. It serves the same as the above MK 93 mount but has a whole bunch more components, and requires different configurations in order to fit onto the vehicle or mount you want to use.

Basically, the MK 93 is newer and more efficient.
