Hello all. We've had a few questions about this lately. People are wondering about the NSN for a spare / repair buckle set for MOLLE packs, rucksacks and vests. Here it is:
www.armyproperty.com/nsn/8465-01-465-2080Be advised, numerous colors were built in support of this NSN. People have submitted requisitions or orders for the NSN, and then had a case of buyer's remorse -- and a ticked-off First Sergeant -- when an unexpected color arrived.
This is a frustrating problem. The NSN was originally assigned in June 1999 (which was well before any of today's camouflage patterns were fielded, when the world was simpler, and Woodland Camo & Desert Camo were sufficient for the entire U.S. miltary) so it's safe to say that the buckles were originally manufactured in black, and then DLA subsequently issued contracts for other colors such as Foliage Green, Desert Tan and Coyote Brown without creating new NSN's for them. Unfortunately, the only solution at this time is to make sure to confirm the color before ordering.
