The MBITR is more capable than any dismounted radio system available today. In a ruggedized package weighing less than two pounds, the MBITR provides unprecedented interoperability with existing military and commercial legacy radio systems and, with software upgradeability, ensures future operation with the next generation of communication equipment. Seven programmable devices, supported by flash memory, are incorporated into the MBITR architecture, creating a truly software-based, handheld radio. The MRC-85A is a self-contained battery charger/conditioner which provides a reliable consistent recharge of up to six batteries simultaneously. The MRC-85A auto senses the battery type to assure the proper charge profile is used.

Unattended Charging:
Smart Charge modules detect open or shorted cells. If a defective cell is detected the MRC-85A will not start the charge cycle. Once charging is completed, on a non-defective battery, the MRC-85A will maintain the battery with a trickle charge for as long as the battery is connected to the MRC-85A. In no event will a battery be overcharged using the Smart Charging techniques of the MRC-85A.

Conditioning Cycle:

Input Voltage:
The WKW-7 requires an external regulated DC power source in order to power the transceiver. DC input power is filtered and used to maintain the internal Sealed Lead Acid-Battery (MRC-490 (V1).
Self-Contained Operation:
Internal battery allows operation of transceiver independently of external power source. The internal charger allows the WKW-7 to recharge the battery while the transceiver is operating.
