SOUM 06-028 puts a stop to unauthorized
use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS)
tow bars. Using unauthorized tow bars
that haven't been rigorously safety
tested and approved for use, such as the
Ibis Tek tow bar system, can result in
serious injury or death to personnel and
damage to vehicles. Recently an
unauthorized tow bar sheared from its
pintle while towing a HMMWV!
